Southern Living Inspired Home at Harbor Club
Framed by the 11th hole of the award-winning Harbor Club golf course, the Southern Living Inspired Home will be open to public tours on October 7-8, 14-15, 21-22 and 28-29; Saturdays 10am - 5pm, and Sundays 12pm - 5pm.
A full slate of activities is planned for the grand opening celebration on Saturday the 7th. Kathryn Lott with Southern Living will be doing a live demo for the perfect Southern Living Bloody Mary at 11:30am, and appetizer preparations from the pages of Southern Living will commence at 2:30pm.
Visitors on Sunday the 8th will enjoy a “Family Block Party” from 1-3 pm featuring a variety of food offerings, gourmet ice pops from the King of Pops cart and a rollicking bounce house for the kids.
Harbor Club general manager, Brandon Matney, points to the community’s quarter century legacy with Southern Living. Says Matney, “Many of the very earliest houses at Harbor Club were Southern Living Houseplans. Today, Harbor Club and Southern Living continue down the path of embracing the extraordinary virtues, culture and sense of lifestyle common only to the South.”
There is no charge to tour the Southern Living Inspired model home, although a $10 donation is suggested which will fully benefit the Greensboro-based Circle of Love Center. The center provides direct and support services to domestic violence victims and their children in Greene, Morgan, Putnam, Baldwin and Hancock counties (www.colinc.org). Grand opening activities and house tours continue throughout the month of October.
